Revell have announced Project Harrier, a new state-of-the-art 1:32 Hawker Siddeley Harrier model kit currently planned for release in Autumn 2027.
This is not a standard product announcement. Revell are taking modellers behind the scenes throughout the development process, sharing the research, scanning, CAD work and design decisions involved in creating a modern large-scale aircraft kit.
For fans of British aviation, large-scale aircraft modelling and the iconic Harrier jump jet, this is one to follow closely.
A new large-scale Harrier from Revell
The Hawker Siddeley Harrier is one of Britain’s most recognisable aircraft, famous for its vertical/short take-off and landing capability and its distinctive shape.
A new 1:32 scale Harrier is a major subject for the modelling world, and Revell’s early development approach suggests this will be a highly detailed and carefully researched project.
Behind the scenes of the kit development
Revell’s development team have already begun the research and design process, including work with real aircraft references, 3D scanning, photography, photogrammetry and CAD development.
Early project updates have shown:
- Initial skeleton CAD modelling
- Cross-section work using aircraft scan data
- Research visits to RAF Wittering Heritage Centre
- Further study and scanning at Gatwick Aviation Museum
- Detailed work on cockpit, wheel bay and Pegasus engine references
- Plans for a separately tooled Pegasus engine and display trolley

Revell are currently planning the 1:32 Harrier for Autumn 2027.
